Brown Bread toast -- mmm -- Homestyle Bakery

All across the country and coast to coast, people always ask me what I love most, I don’t like to brag, I don’t like to boast, I always tell them I love toast – YEAH TOAST!

There is a story behind this (really I’m not crazy….ok, maybe a little). When I worked in Pittsburgh in the printing business we used to work a lot of long hours, early mornings and late nights. I don’t remember who but someone brought in a toaster and we’d take turns bringing in loaves of bread for toast. One day somebody brought in a CD of Hayward Banks songs and “Toast” became our morning theme song, we had a lot of laughs and it got us going for our busy day.

Last Saturday I went to the Farmers Market, bought my usual dozen eggs from Herb and Cheryl, then headed over to Rick’s table and bought THE MOST delicious Brown Bread. It’s a hearty, dense wheat type of bread and makes excellent toast!

Amish Roll Butter - creamy & delicious!
